Wind Quintet - Quintologia
Wind quintet Quintologia was formed in 2011 by Slovenian and Serbian musicians living in Slovenia, who were already successful in both local and foreign musical venues. It consists of the most eminent young soloists of Slovenian orchestras – the Radio-Television Symphony and the Slovenian Philharmonic, as well as the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra from Serbia. The ensemble stemmed from the musicians' need to realize their artistic expression in the form of a wind quintet and present it to a wider audience.
Apart from the classical wind repertoire, Quintologia often goes beyond the expected and commonly heard which deepens and modernizes their musical expression and sound timbre. They are very proud of their concerts in Novo Mesto, Kranj, Jesenice, and Ljubljana, as well as festivals such as the cultural and artistic education Bobri festival in Ljubljana and in Serbia at the »Street musicians« festival in Novi Sad, where they were joined by the Slovenian accordionist Marko Hatlak in the performance of Astor Piazzolla's tango music. Quintologia often includes charitable causes and educational concerts for children in their performance schedule.
